Maps and two different surveys show that a school, called the Dido School, was located at the Dido Cemetery as far back as 1895. The school was demolished by a tornado on April 3, 1957.  A Texas State Historical Marker now marks the location of the old Dido School.  The 2007 Dido Day featured a special emphasis on the Dido School and the people who attended there.  On April 26, 2009, during the annual Dido Day event, the Dido School State of Texas Historical Marker was unveiled and dedicated.
